Privacy Policy
GotDone is a public index of what people and organizations accomplish. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Information we collect
We may collect information you give us, including your name, email address, account details, profile information, accomplishments, descriptions, topics, and links you submit as proof.
If you ask GotDone to import work, we may retrieve information from public webpages, repositories, social posts, changelogs, feeds, and other sources you provide. We may also index publicly available accomplishments and create unclaimed public profiles.
We collect limited product analytics through our systems and PostHog, such as pages viewed, feed items shown, proof links opened, sign-up starts, posts, votes, comments, performance signals, errors, dead clicks, and rage clicks. Privacy-masked session recordings may help us diagnose broken or confusing experiences. Form inputs and user-generated text are masked before a recording is sent. Anonymous activity is limited to the current browser session. Our internal analytics and PostHog integration respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals and do not attach raw IP addresses to our internal events or use analytics to fingerprint you.
Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate traffic, country, device, referral, and performance reporting. It does not use cookies, local storage, or cross-site tracking to identify visitors.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate GotDone, create and maintain public profiles, display accomplishment histories, power search and topic tracking, import and classify public work, prevent abuse, communicate with users, and improve the service.
Text and links you submit may be sent to automated safety services that detect harmful content, phishing, malware, or deceptive websites. Submissions may be held for human review when these checks are unavailable or inconclusive.
3. What becomes public
GotDone is designed around public records of work. Profile names, descriptions, accomplishments, proof links, topics, source attribution, and related activity may be publicly visible and discoverable through search engines. We will identify imported content where appropriate.
Do not submit private, confidential, personal, or proprietary information that you do not want made public.
4. How we share information
We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, moderate, analyze, and operate GotDone. This can include sharing submitted text or URLs with content-safety and malicious-link detection providers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information for money.
5. Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct, claim, export, or delete information associated with you. You may also request correction or removal of an imported profile or accomplishment. Some public-source records may be retained where necessary for legitimate archival, safety, legal, or integrity purposes.
To make a request, visit Support or email satpal.code@gmail.com and include enough information for us to locate the relevant account, profile, or record.
6. Retention and security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain public records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Detailed events in our internal analytics store are retained for up to 90 days; analytics and recordings processed by service providers follow the retention configured for those services. Longer-term internal reporting should use aggregated counts. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no system is completely secure.
7. Children
GotDone is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Local law may require a higher minimum age.
8. International use and changes
Information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. We may update this policy as GotDone changes and will revise the date above when we do.
9. Contact
